TRANSFIGURATION OF THE LORD FEBRUARY 19, 2012
WE PREPARE FOR WORSHIP
Please silence cell phones and other electronics in preparation for worship.
“Everywhere we saw failure and misery transformed by humility into priceless assets. We heard story after story of how humility had brought strength out of weakness. In every case, pain had been the price of admission into a new life. But this admission price had purchased more than we expected. It brought a measure of humility, which we soon discovered to be a healer of pain. We began to fear pain less, and desire humility more than ever. The Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions

(11:00) Jennifer Fisher
THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Eternal God, by your grace, we live and move and have our being. Your face is blotted out by our sinful words, actions and attitudes. Cleanse us from all of our wrongs, and deliver us from proud thoughts and vain desires. We desire to possess quiet and humble hearts so that we may draw near to you. And so we do confess our faults and confide in your grace. You alone are our refuge and strength; through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Silence for personal confession to the Lord
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
People of God, hope in the Lord; for with the Lord there is unfailing love and an overflowing supply of salvation.
We know that Jesus Christ will free us from every kind of sin—to the glory of God! Amen.
*GREETING
The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
And also with you.
