Inclusivity: Gender and Sexuality

To read the TMPC Statement of Inclusion, click here

On its journey to become a more inclusive church, TMPC affirms that it is a church that is welcome to all people. We celebrate each person's journey of faith and each person's identity in Christ. TMPC seeks to include all people in their God-given identity.

To that end, TMPC has made the following commtiments:

In 2014, TMPC voted to allow same gender marriages in our sanctuary following all church policies.
In 2020, TMPC became a More Light Church by approving the following statement:

More Light Statement

Following the risen Christ, and seeking to make the Church a true community of hospitality, the mission of More Light Presbyterians is to work for the full participation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people in the life, ministry and witness of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and in society.

We continue to learn and grow together about how to embrace and celebrate the full abundance of God's creation.

New Hope Pride Parade
May 20, 2023

Thompson is Marching in the New Hope Pride Parade on Saturday, May 20th  !!!!

We are PROUD to be marching again in our community Pride Parade!  We are all created in the image of God, so, let’s show our support for our LGBTQ siblings in Christ by marching in the parade.

Come join the fun and show our community that we are an inclusive and loving church for EVERYONE!

We will have signs plus items to give to spectators (e.g. Mardi Gras beads, candy, and “Thompson Loves You” packets). Participants will wear their Thompson T-shirts, and march behind our large THOMPSON banner to show we are marching as a group.

Please click here to order your T-shirt by April 25th! Order soon, and it will be shipped directly to your home. Scholarships are available.

The Parade starts in Lambertville and ends in New Hope.  Participants should arrive at 31 York Street in Lambertville by 9:45 a.m. for our pre-parade party.  We recommend parking at New Hope High School then walking across the bridge to Lambertville.

The parade ends around 12:30. Let’s rendezvous after the parade and meet on the patio at the Logan Inn on Main Street in New Hope.
